Crop resistance is a complex quantitative trait controlled by many genes, which coordinate with each other to form a complex regulatory network.Transcription factors can regulate the expression of downstream gene by specifically binding to the cis-acting elements in the promoter region, playing important roles in crop resistance responding. The NAC (NAM, ATAF1/2, and CUC2) family is one of the largest Fruit Formulas families of plant-specific transcription factors with multiple biological functions. This paper aims to summarize relevant research progress at home and abroad.Firstly, the structural characteristics of NAC transcription factor were briefly introduced.

Then the recent research progresses of the functions and mechanisms of NAC transcription factor in wheat in response to biotic stresses such as stripe rust, powdery mildew and fusarium head blight, as well as abiotic stresses such KYOLIC FORMULA 100 as drought and high salinity, were emphasized.Relatively more NAC transcription factor responding to stripe rust and drought were cloned and analyzed, while there were relatively less studies responding to powdery mildew, fusarium head blight as well as other diseases, and salt stress as well as other abiotic stresses.Besides, the functional identification of most of these genes has only been performed through genetic transformation in Arabidopsis, and the molecular regulation mechanism participating in stress response was relatively simple. Finally, the research direction and application prospect of wheat NAC transcription factor were prospected. The present paper could provide references for genetic improvement of wheat stress resistance more conveniently and efficiently.
